How my journey began

Hi! I’m Alaina, a loving wife, devoted mom, and certified birth doula serving the DFW area. My fascination with pregnancy, and subsequent calling into birth work, started at a very young age.

I remember watching the movie “Knocked Up” as a teenager and thinking “Surely THAT isn’t what it’s like to have a baby?” The screaming, the fear, the uncertainty… I simply could not accept that that was our only option for bringing new life into the world. How could something so perfectly designed by God be so horrific?

Seeing that portrayal of birth led me on my journey of discovering the secret that media doesn’t want us to know: giving birth can be BEAUTIFUL, AUTONOMOUS, and SACRED. Women can (and deserve to) birth feeling empowered instead of defeated, and maybe even excited to do it again.

When I became pregnant with my son, I spent my entire pregnancy diving deep into the world of empowered births and spent months designing my dream experience. Even when unforeseen circumstances quickly turned my planned home birth into a hospital transfer, God showed me just how beautiful and redemptive birth can be when we surrender to the process and learn to trust our bodies. I strive to help fellow mothers also leave their births feeling accomplished and celebrated, even if their path looks different than they expected, too.

I am genuinely passionate about helping support you to achieve your birth goals. I deeply believe that women deserve better and more than just “healthy mom and baby”… Your experience is equally important. I am committed to helping you achieve your own dream experience through encouragement, support, and providing you with the resources to achieve truly autonomous, informed decisions.

Whether this is your first baby or fifth, each new birth brings forth not only new life, but also a whole new woman. Walking alongside women as they enter, or reenter, the sacred kingdom of new motherhood is truly an honor that is not lost on me. Thank you, for considering welcoming me into your birth space.

When I’m not working with clients, you can find me chasing my baby boy, hunting for the best deals at consignment sales, and planning vacations my husband won’t let me take.
